I am testing the water as to say and it is only a dummy run not a real postage.
I have a small parcel (3×2.5″ HDDs) including packing and it weighs 0.414 kg not sure how it works, is it under 1kg or under 5kg.
Royal Mail don’t go anywhere near only under 5kg-10kg- 15kg etc.
it seems straight forward with parcel2go they say only the first 2 after the 0 . ie 0.41 not 0.414.

JohnI have had the same, I once sent it 1st class recorded and the DWP freepost was deducted from the total cost.

JohnThanks Duke
I haven’t watched a game yet (I may if England reach the final) as far as the Panama game some one was (in a pub, I was at) had it on the mobile for the first 2. Then I heard a crowd cheer (as I passed a community centre) I thought that was the the 3rd, it turned out to be the 4th. I then looked on the net for the final result and watched all the shots on TV.
Due to the panama win I checked on the net for yesterdays result.
I think they have reached furthest in a long time?
Cheers
JohnSo the win against Panama was a fluke.
The team wasn’t so good today, does this mean they’re coming home yet.

You know i’ve got the nack for these things.
W10 is alive again (not the backup though) fresh install. I have deleted W7 backups and don’t want to go back, Dave.

JohnExperiment completed, there came a point where I have lost everything (or no longer useable), As planeman suggested, it’ll probably fail as the licence is now used for Win 10. This happened after a Windows 7 update last night.
Dave, It’s dead as a dodo
Win 10 backup isn’t any better, been attempting repairs for the last hour.
Cheers
JohnThanks Dave
I don’t think there is any particular reason, just experimenting.

JohnMaybe as you say after 3 power downs you could be met with recovery, I won’t try that one.
That was my point, I was met with the options (safe moode) after a power down (allbeit the first) I don’t see that after a power down in Windows 10 it just boots into desktop as per.
Cheers
JohnThanks PM
While I have been uninstalling, it’s been updating (in the background) happily.
I recall in the past I have had 7 on then 10, then back again. Using either and they have both worked with no problem and updated.
At times I have loaded 7 on the second Tuesday just to update it, then re backup, hence up to backup 18.
It’s the revering backI am not sure if it will be clean enough, ie bits left on.

JohnHi John I haven’t personally seen that scanning disk thing since Windows ME but I would be interested in the result of your test.
Results are in (maybe not CHKDSK) it happens
Windows 7 – NTFS- acciddently power off / startup results below
First picture is the wrong one I started in safe mode, not normal.

This I have never seen in Windows 10, that’s what I meant.

JohnI will go for a docking station off JayCee’s link, as you say useful addition for dealing with odd HDD’s.
I have a few old ones, maybe redundant now.
Cheers
JohnThanks JayCee
Many moons ago I had the all in 1 docking station, I didn’t find it worked when I needed it,
that mainly was IDE. I evensearched the house down before the one above. I was going to give it another go,I must of put it in the bin.I will probe the other link, I may end up with a docking station again.
Hope for better luck Graham.

JohnGreat stuff Bob
Had you not gone hands free, she may have been gutted not to know the answer.
I usually pass my mobile to her, if it rings she takes the call and gives my reply.
That’s a great hands free, although it grunts at me.

John3 posts sos, If only we could edit a post after 5mins.
There didn’t seem a point of contact so I returned it (to be collected by Hermes)
I need to re look for another type, any suggestions welcome.
Much appreciated Graham for the suggestion

JohnBrilliant Graham
Using PC power it worked fine and I was able to use Disk Management as needed.
I need to see about changing it, not sure I maybe I will have to contact the seller and explain.
Cheers
JohnThanks Graham
I will try with PC power, I have no spare plugs being commercial PCs, but I think I have a coupler some where.
Cheers
JohnThanks Graham
Windows 7 was NTFS I am sure it CHKDSK before it got to the desktop, after a switch off (not power down) ie I have 2 PCs both on a switchable 240v socket, it’s when I switch the wrong socket off by mistake.
I will install 7 (NTFS) and see, maybe I am thinking (XP Fat32)

Johnooppss sos wrong thread

The only problem I have had (since I had new pads) is screeching (as I drive) I took that back no end of time, it still does it now (intermittently)
The clock illumination (when the lights are on) is dull. The clock keeps going off and is replaced with the temperature, that is mainly in the winter. That really annoys me, I know how cold/hot it is, I don’t know what time it is.
I can’t think of any major problems, when they arise I get it seen to, safety is my priority, mainly for any passengers who put there trust in me.
When I last took the car it hadn’t warned, I left it running, I can only assume it started when they got to look.
I am determined to get this flashing sorted, they have offered a fix so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
It did only start since they changed the oil switch, it did fix the oil leak.
Cheers
